Length: 21 inches (550mm)
Type: Screw-in type, which means it is designed to be threaded into the gas valve or pilot assembly.
Compatibility: Specifically designed for Brivis ducted gas heaters.
The thermocouple generates a small voltage when heated by the pilot flame. This voltage keeps the gas valve open, allowing gas to flow to the pilot light and burner. If the pilot light goes out, the thermocouple cools down, the voltage drops, and the gas valve closes, stopping the gas flow.
Turn off the gas supply to the heater before replacing the thermocouple.
Unscrew the old thermocouple from the gas valve or pilot assembly.
Insert the new thermocouple and screw it into place.
Reconnect the thermocouple to the gas valve.
Relight the pilot light and test the heater to ensure it is functioning correctly.
Faulty thermocouple: If the pilot light won't stay lit, the thermocouple may be faulty and need replacement.
Improper positioning: Ensure the thermocouple is properly positioned in the pilot flame for accurate operation.
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety guidelines when working with gas appliances. If you're unsure about replacing the thermocouple, it's best to consult a licensed gas fitter or technician.
